MBRF Receives LatinFinance’s M&A Deal of the Year Award in New York
Recognition highlights the merger between Marfrig and BRF as one of the most significant capital markets transactions in Latin America
MBRF, one of the largest food companies in the world, has been recognized with the Domestic M&A Deal of the Year award at the LatinFinance Capital Markets Dinner & Awards, held in New York, USA. The award highlights the merger between Marfrig and BRF as one of the most relevant and well-executed transactions in Latin America’s capital markets.
The award is granted by LatinFinance, an international media outlet specializing in financial markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, which monitors debt and equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and corporate finance. The recognition honors transactions that stand out for their strategic relevance, complexity, and quality of execution in local markets.
Upon receiving the award, Tang Davi, member of MBRF’s Board of Directors, emphasized that the recognition goes beyond the financial transaction. “This merger, conceived and led by our chairman, Mr. Marcos Molina, gave rise to one of the largest food companies in the world, with a comprehensive multi-protein portfolio, producing 8 million tons of products annually, serving 425,000 customers in 117 countries, employing 130,000 people directly, and generating annual revenues of over BRL 160 billion—creating value for shareholders and for society,” he said.
Merger
Announced in May 2025 and completed in September of the same year, with broad shareholder approval and no restrictions from regulatory authorities, the merger created a company with annual revenues of approximately BRL 160 billion. The transaction aims to strengthen the company’s global presence, enhance strategic, operational, and tax synergies, and solidify its leadership position across the markets in which it operates, leveraging competitive advantages and generating value.
With 38% of its sales volume coming from processed products with high added value, MBRF was born as one of the largest food companies in the world, based on a multi-protein platform with iconic brands and an integrated portfolio.
